Finding Your Way in the Maze of Therapy
So perhaps you've got a bad back or Fibromyalgia. Maybe you're suffering from anxiety or OCD.
Your G.P. offers you some medication which, although it may help your condition, you decide not to take due to the list of potential side effects. So you decide to take a complementary route.
Where do you go for help? Google? How do you know if those listed are to be trusted or not?
There are various possibilities which you might like to consider which may help you decide which therapist or practitioner to call and find your way out of the maze.
One is to consider that the The Department of Health recommends that members of the public always consult with a CNHC - registered professional. The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) was set up by the government to protect the public. They do this by providing a UK register of complementary health practitioners. They set the standards that practitioners need to meet to get onto and then stay on the register. All CNHC registrants have agreed to be bound by the highest standards of conduct and have registered voluntarily. All of them are professionally trained and fully insured to practise. I am currently a member of the CNHC.
I am also a member of The World Health Heroes which is an ever expanding group of health practitioners. They run motivational events, retreat days and wellness evenings. They also have a YouTube Wellbeing Channel. The WHH are also in the process of creating a clinic which will financially support those in need to access the services of the Heroes. A directory of practitioners can be found on the website.
If you feel that the way to choose a therapist / practitioner should be based on the recommendations and experiences of clients then I suggest visiting Total Wellness Club. Here you can find practitioners nationwide - many of whom have reviews on their pages from their clients. Here are my reviews for hypnotherapy in Bath, Salisbury and online.
So, I hope this helped you find your way towards positive mental and physical well-being by using one of these routes to a trusted therapist.
